Search the Directory
The Sussex Disability Employment Directory was commissioned and funded by Disability Equals Business (an initiative funded by the European Social Fund). It aims to assist employers in Sussex who employ disabled people or who have an employee who becomes disabled, and can help both employer and employee find answers to disability employment matters. It was compiled by ICIS in partnership with West Sussex Association for Disabled People and East Sussex Disability Association, and was produced in print in September 2007. The content of this online version of the Directory is regularly maintained and updated by ICIS, enabling employers to access up-to-date information about the organisations listed. In accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998, records over 16 months old are automatically removed until the updated information is confirmed.
Inclusion in the Directory does not constitute a recommendation of the organisations by the partners involved in collating the Directory.
The Directory does not list the many organisations that help disabled people gain skills prior to employment such as colleges. Neither does it list the many organisations who provide assistance with wider disability issues. There are many more aspects to disability and employment than can be presented in this Directory. The Sussex Business Guide To Disability
A Guide for people running small or medium sized businesses, which focuses on what businesses need to know about employing disabled people, and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). The Guide provides examples of how easy it is to make changes in line with the DDA, and includes a detailed factsheet section.
